Personal identity project.

Idea.

A couple of years ago, I started thinking that I needed a personal brand
a pseudonym under which I could run my projects. I like my real name,
but I never fully embraced it: it felt too long, too serious, and maybe
not quite about me. My international colleagues quickly optimised Konstantin into Kon or Kons, which I actually found quite interesting,
so I decided to use it.

To be honest, it never really stuck but at least it turned into an interesting experiment involving inflated letters and different materials applied to them, which, in my opinion, looks quite fun.

Realisation.

At first, I just sketched the general outlines of the letters. Stylistically,
I knew right away it should reference graffiti, like a sort of protest, because creativity, for me, is something deeply personal: it's often a form
of self-expression that no one really asked for.

After that, I draw the letters outlines in Marvelous Designer, stitched them together, and did a simulation. My teammate Ernst helped with the simulation (you can find a link to his work here — highly recommended
if you’ve made it this far!).

The simulation was cached, the textures were painted in Substance Painter, and I tried out a few different approaches to lighting
and presentation.

And yes — all of this was before it became mainstream.
